In honor of Women’s History Month, the FBA SDNY celebrates Marguerite Rawalt. Rawalt worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 33 years — her entire career. She joined the Federal Bar Association in 1935 and was elected the first female president of the FBA in 1943. During her presidency, she increased membership by 33 percent and organized a series of highly successful luncheons with speakers such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Supreme Court Chief Justice Harlan Fiske Stone.
